Greetings fine people! Thank you to all who came out to the Red Planet with Bill Carrothers CD release event over the last two nights. It was spectacular to see everyone and truly an honor to make music with Dean, Jay and Bill. I’m a lucky guy! If you were not able to get to the show you can find the music here: RED PLANET
If you were one of the people who attended our live concert recording in 2015 then we owe you a CD! Please contact me here and I’ll make arrangements to get it to you – mail, sled dog, vacuum tube, teletype machine – whatever it takes!
Here’s what’s on tap for the next couple of weeks:
Friday April 21st 8-10pm FREE
Saturday April 22nd 8:30-11pm $10 Donation All Ages
My goal for this year has been to get this group playing more frequently so we can build some momentum for a new recording! Please join us for this exciting gig. If the boundaries were ever going to be pushed, this is the night, as no original members of the band will be present. A true test for my leadership skills and writing ability. Come walk the edge of the knife with me and these incredible musicians!
Sunday April 23rd 7-8pm $10 suggested donation All Ages
Soul Cafe (Steve Blons gtr, Brad Holden sax, Steven Hobert pno, CB) plays in the wonderful art gallery at Hennepin Avenue UMC. This is a unique chamber jazz ensemble that melds poetry with improvisation. Tonight’s theme is: Awakenings!
Friday April 28th 7-10:30pm FREE
Peter Schimke trio (Peter Schimke pno, Kenny Horst drums, CB) at the Lexington.
After this gig I’ll be out on the road with Davina and the Vagabonds! It will be a fun to change up my musical landscape with this rootsy blues band! All the details are on my calendar page or on Davina’s site.
